About the Speakers

  • Dr Douglas O’Loughlin is the Principal of The Dao of Thriving, and an Associate Consultant with Civil Service College and Harthill Consulting. Originally from the US, he has been living in Singapore since 1993 and has worked across all sectors and in more than 25 countries. He has done Leadership and Organisation Development work since 1988, and his passion is to support impactful and joyful organisations.

  • Thomas Kuan is the Founder of U 3rd Age, Singapore. As a senior, he is passionate about meaningful conversations among seniors as a lifelong learning activity. He is the Hon. President of EAFAE (East Asia Federation for Adult Education), and a Fellow of the Beta Phi Society (USA).

  • Chitra Ramesh is a teacher by profession. She started getting into literary circle in Singapore when she migrated to Singapore in early 1990s. She was executive committee member and assistant secretary in Singapore Tamil Writers Association for 15 years. She also started writing stories, poems and non-fictional writing and published 7 books to her credit. She has won Singapore Literature Prize and Golden point award for short story. Her passion for reading continues and facilitating readers circle program in Library.

  • Tong Wei Qiang Adrian has been a long-time member of the Singapore Han Cultural Society. He is a young Singaporean who is very interested in Ancient Chinese Culture. In his free time, he likes to read traditional Chinese Classics, Ancient Chinese History as well as Chinese Literature.

  • Alison Chen is a Skills Ambassador with SkillsFuture Singapore since July 2020. Prior to this role, Alison has worked for more than 25 years in the chemical industry, gaining experience covering Manufacturing, Engineering, Customer Service, Operations, Sales and Marketing, Learning and Development and a Workplace Trainer. She is also a Certified Adult Educator Professional in Curriculum Development and a Certified Career Advisor. Being an avid learner, she continues to upskill along with her career development. She is currently pursuing a part time Specialist Diploma in Workplace and Career Counselling.
